Miyeok (미역) (Undaria pinnatifida) is a seaweed eaten in Korea, commonly in the form of Miyeok-guk, a soup for breakfast, or in salads. It is similar to the Japanese wakame (わかめ) (若布). In China it is called qundaicai (裙带菜) and its center of production is Dalian. It is highly nutritious, but is nonetheless considered to be a pest plant in New Zealand and other areas where it has been introduced.
