Mogyoktang

목욕탕 (mogyoktang)

Mogyoktangs are essentially Korean public bathhouses, complete with lockers, showers, jacuzzis, steam rooms, massage and barber shop. There are many names for Korean bathhouses, most notably are sauna, jjimjilbang, spa, and mogyoktang. All are equipped with public bathhouse amenities, however, in the case of saunas, spas, and jjimjilbangs, they are often much more elaborate with sleeping and various recreation facilities.

Mogyoktangs are usually bathhouse only and are not 24 hours. They're very useful for when you need a place to shower and freshen up, if you are travelling or if your plumbing is on the fritz. Fees usually run 3,000 - 5000 won per visit, though packets of 10 tickets can significantly lower the cost.
