Mureung Gyegok is located in the western part of Donghae-shi, Gangwon-do. It extends around 2.5 kms. west from Samwhasa temple. It has a scenic stream running through an area of spectacular rocks. In 1997 it was classified as National Tourist Zone No. 1.

Both regular and express city buses run regularly from Donghae bus terminal.
Hiking trails lead to surrounding mountains and nearby waterfalls. Dutasan overlooks this valley on the south.
