On its northeast and east sides is Sangju-shi, with its Hwabuk-myeon and Hwanam-myeon. The southern boundary is shared with Maro-myeon and Oesongni-myeon.
[edit] Sanae-ri
Part of Songnisan National Park, including the Beopjusa area, is located in Naesongni-myeon's Sanae-ri. The Songnisan tourist village is one of Korea's larger ones. There are innumerable minbaks, Yeogwans, souvenir shops, and restaurants, a few night clubs, a Nong Hyup supermarket and some small groceries. Meal prices are a bit higher than average, and the quality varies - some are very good:
- Cheongnim Shiktang is on the right side of the main street (going up)has very tasty yeongyang dolsotbap, twenjang, and kamjajeon. Three out of three is not bad.
- Pungmi Shiktang on the side street paralleling the main street to the right(going up)(0433)543-3715. A-1 grade kamja-jeon(potato pancakes), Nice peoseot dupbap (mushrooms on rice) - a good dish if you don't like it highly spiced.
There's a bus station at the tourist village and buses come from Boeun-eup, Cheongju and Seoul.
