Phillies Bar and Grill is popular burger joint in Haebangchon. The fare is standard Western fast food: burgers, fries, hotdogs, and includes pot pies and Jamaican patties. The place is run by Todd from New Zealand, who is quite friendly, accomodating, and enjoys being on a first-name basis with his customers. The food really hits the spot when you need some authentic food from home. The burgers are his own recipe, and would easily stand up against the best burgers in the West.
They show sporting events that cannot be see at other bars because they come in on a South African satelite channel. These include lots of rugby and cricket.
The bar sponsors a variety of social activities, including Quiz Nights on Wednesdays at 9:00, and sponsoring or coordinating various sporting events, including the annual touch rugby tournament on the Han River near Yeouinaru Station.
