Pak Daet'ong ryeong saengga

The birthplace of former Korean leader Park Chung Hee is located in Gumi's Salmo-dong, several kilometres south of the Gumi Bus Terminal. Admission is free. There are plans for a large complex but as of early 2006 what can be found here is:

  • a parking lot.
  • a park area with gazebo and benches just above the parking lot. *a landscaped pedestrian walkway.
  • the house of President Park. It's a small clay building, with traditional thatched roof. Park's study desk is one of the few things inside.
  • the office is right beyond the house.
  • an exhibit area is on the other side of the house.
  • a shrine with flags and portraits is in back of the house.
