Samhyang-myeon is one of 7 myeon in Muan county, Jeollanam-do. As of 2001 it has a population of 8,768.
Namak-ri is located in Samhyang, and has been the provincial capitol since 2005. There are plans to greatly expand Namak, and the Namak New Town initiative is set to develop commercial, industrial, cultural, and recreational facilities. The plan will take 20 years, will finish in 2019, and when completed will have finished the Muan International Airport and grown the population to around 150,000.
