Seolcheon-myeon is located in Muju-gun, Jeollabuk-do. On its west is Jeoksang-myeon, northwest is Muju-eup, north is Yonghwa-myeon and Sangchon-myeon of Yeongdong-gun. East is Buhang-myeon of Gimcheon and Mupung-myeon. South is Geochang-gun's Buksang-myeon. Southwest is Anseong-myeon.

Highways 30 and 37 run through Seolcheon-myeon. Buses run to Gucheondong from Daejon, Daegu, Jeonju, Muju-eup, and Jangsu.
