Seomyeon (서면) is an area usually considered to be the centre of Busan, for convenience, nightlife, and transportation. Lines 1 and 2 intersect at Seomyeon Station and City Hall is nearby. Other things to see in Seomyeon include Busan Tower.

There are lots of restaurants, bars and clubs to choose from in this area. Seomyeon No. 1 Street is south of Seomyeon Station is a major hub of activity. Also, there are many cinemas around, as well.

Seomyeon is Busan's equivalent to Seoul's shopping high fashion meccas of Apgujeong and Myeongdong, where one can find Lotte Department Store, Busan Migliore and the sprawling Daehyun underground shopping district which stretches from Seomyeon Station to Judie's Taehwa. Across from Lotte Dept Store is Beauty Town, a large area full of beauty shops, cosmetics, and skin care and plastic surgery clinics.
