Seongjeon-myeon is one of ten myeon in Gangjin county, Jeollanam-do. It was established in 1914 when two now-defunct myeon--Anju-myeon and Goeup-myeon--merged. As of 2003 the population is 3,754 [1].
The most notable attractions in Seongjeon are Muwisa temple, Gyeongpodae, Wolnamsa, and Sunghwa College. There are also large tea fields in Seongjeon near the two temple sites.
