Seongju |
Seongju (성주군, 星州郡, star.province.county) is a county in Gyeongsangbuk-do. The population as of 2004 was 48,408, including:
- 47,731 Koreans and
- 677 non-Koreans.

To the east across the Nakdong River is the city of Daegu and the county of Chilgok, to the northwest is the city of Gimcheon, to the south is the county of Goryeong, to the southwest is the mountain Gayasan, and the county of Hapcheongun in Gyeongsangnam-do.
Seongju has a relatively warm climate but still lacks the moderating influence of the sea. The average yearly temperature is 12.5℃, and the average precipitation per year is from 880 to 1,300 mm, with the majority of it falling between the months of June to August.
