[edit] General information
Seongnam is a city located south-east of Seoul, and is South Korea's seventh largest city by population. Seongnam is perhaps better known for the borough of Bundang, the more affluent section of the city, where the majority of local taxes are collected. There is some debate about whether Bundang should become an independant municipal body. At the same time, given Seongnam's large population, there is also a debate as to whether it should become its own metropolitan city (광역시), similar to Incheon.
