Seosan (서산시, 瑞山市; detailed.mountain.city) is a city in Chungcheongnam-do. The population as of 2004 was 150,890, including:

To the east are the counties of Dangjin and Yesan, to the south is the county of Hongseong, to the west is the county of Taean, and to the north is the city of Asan.
Mountains near the city include Palbongsan (팔봉산, 362m) and Seongwangson (성왕산, 252m). A mountainous region begins from this city in all directions, as well as a large number of tiny bays and peninsulae, with five inhabited and 24 uninhabited islands. The mountains in this area are of a softer and rounder quality than most others in the country.
The average yearly temperature is 12.3℃, the average in January is -2.7℃, and in August 25.6℃. The average yearly precipitation is 1,826.6mm.

Cherry blossoms in Seosan generally bloom somewhere between April 12th and 20th. A popular destination to see cherry blossoms is Gaeshimsa Temple ( site).

The 2006 movie Barefoot Gibong (맨발의 기봉) is set and was filmed in various areas of Seosan.
