Seoul Bible Church is a church in Seoul, South Korea, located near Exit 4 of Bongcheon Station.
[edit] Services
It has expositional sermons in English. Sunday School at starts at 9:45, and Sunday worship is at 11 a.m. Translation is provided for the Sunday morning service. The wednesday service is at 7:30 PM.
The church is fairly small, and a usual Sunday morning crowd consists of around fifty people. The service style is very conservative. Although Seoul Bible Church is not affiliated with any one denomination, most of the church's doctrinal positions follow very well along a Baptist mode of thought. Those with children should be made aware of the fact that besides a morning Sunday School class for kids (held in English with a translator), there is no nursery or other class for kids. This is especially because the services, starting at 11:00, often last over an hour and a half (due to the translation).
[edit] Pastoral Staff
The church has two pastors both of whom are graduates of Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. Pastor Doug Threlfall, who usually preaches in the Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services, is in the United States on furlough at the moment. His replacement is Ed Myers, also a graduate of Bob Jones University. The other pastor, Ken Johnson, usually teaches Sunday School as well as teaches at the seminary associated with the church.
[edit] Directions
Right after climbing up the stairs out of the subway, take a right on the first small street you meet. Follow this small road to the larger road to which it leads and then cross the larger street and keep heading straight. You'll find yourself walking into the Doosan Apartment complex. Keep following the same way. After it curves to the right, you will notice a turnabout. At the turnabout, you should exit the apartment complex by taking a left. Keep going straight one block and then take a right, after which you will go one more block and then take a left. The church is the second building on the left. Beware that it does not look especially like a church. The sign is in Korean (서울성서교회), and the services are held in the basement.
