[edit] Supermarkets
There are large grocery stores located in the above-mentioed department stores. They carry a variety of Western products otherwise unavailable in Jeollanam-do, such as different cheeses, spices, sauces, and meats. Please read this post from the GIC website for more details.

[edit] Bookstores
There is a branch of Young Poong Bookstore at the Gwangju Bus Terminal. It has a small selection of English-language materials, mostly "the classics," current novels, and Lonely Planet guides. There are small bookstores scattered throughout the city that cater mostly to students and which have few things of interest to the average foreigner. English teachers may wish to visit the Chungjangno area, where there are clusters of hagwon and bookstores that cater to English learners of all levels. 충장서림, next to the Starbucks in Chungjangno, has two tables of English-language novels, as well as a small selection of English education resources and textbooks for native speakers.
