Soan-do

Soan-do (소안도, ) is an island in Soan-myeon, Wando county, Jeollanam-do. It has an area of 23.16 square kilometers. The island is called "comfortable island," as residents reportedly defended Soan-do from Japanese pirates. About 3,000 people live on Soan-do today, and it is part of Dadohae Maritime National Park.
