Sogang University

Sogang University (서강대학교) (西江大学校) is one of the major religious universities in South Korea. It is located in Seoul. The university possess accreditation from the South Korean Ministry of Culture and Education.

Established in 1960 by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), Sogang University teaches over seven thousand students a semester. The university was established to provide an education based on Catholic belief and inspired by the Jesuit educational philosophy.

Sogang University is reknowned for demanding a high level of commitment from it's students compared to other Korean universities, and is sometimes referred to as "Sogang High School". Usually in Korea, high school is considered a time of high, frantic studying in order to pass the university entrance exam, and once in, its time to relax.
