Sunchang (순창군, 淳昌郡, pure.verdant.county) is a county in Jeollabuk-do. The population as of 2004 was 31,913, including:
- 31,814 Koreans and
- 99 non-Koreans.

To the east of Sunchang is the city of Namwon, to the north is the county of Imshil, to the west is the city of Jeongeup, and to the south are the counties of Jangseong, Damyang and Gokseong in Jeollanam-do.
The whole of the county is located in the east part of the Noryeong Mountains.
The average yearly temperature is around 12∼13℃, and the yearly precipitation is approximately 1,300mm.
