Suncheon Japanese Castle

Suncheon Japanese Castle (순천왜성) is located in Haeryong-myeon, Suncheon city, Jeollanam-do. It was built in the 1597 by the Japanese and is the only remaining Japanese fortress in Jeollanam-do. The spot is 36,480 pyeong in size, and features a stone wall, a moat, and several dirt and stone fortifications. Fourteen thousand Japanese troops were stationed here.

From Suncheon, take bus no. 21 to Sinseongpo.
