The Maritime Museum has real archaeological treasures. It is cheap (under 1,000 won) and well laid-out, with most of the stuff labeled in English. If you are interested in Korean history or underwater archaeology, this is a great place to visit. Across the street is a small museum dedicated to art of the region. Next door to the Maritime Museum is a spacious museum of contemporary art that I entered with-out having to pay any-thing. It seems to have changing exhibitions. Across the street from that museum there is a center for intangible treasures. Also nearby is a museum of industrial ceramics. All this stuff is on the water-front, sort of between the train and bus stations. (Kim Dammers)
