Mok Sok Won (The Garden of Wood and Rock Formations) is a place in which wood and rocks of Jeju Island are displayed, just as the name indicates. The wood and rock formations at Mok Sok Won have values unique and distinguished. The wood formations are the roots of Jorok trees (Distylium recemosum), which are found on Mt. Halla of Jeju Island at an altitude of seven hundred meters above sea level. The hard resinous part of a tree remain a long time after the tree has died, revealing exquisite sculptural beauty of natural formation. Among these, twenty pieces have been designated as Local Commemorative Asset No. 25 on April 14, 1972 and the whole garden has been ptected by the provincial government since December 27, 1977. The rocks on display or in storage at Mok Sok Won have been collected from all over the Island since the late 1069s.

The Tamna Mokseogwon (탐라목석원, 耽羅木石苑, Tamna.tree.stone.garden) is the 25th cultural treasure of Jeju-do, a garden with wood and stone sculptures in various forms. It costs 2000 won for adults, and slightly less for younger people, students, and groups. It is quite easy to find - go up the main road past City Hall that heads towards Hallasan, then drive for about another 15 minutes and once the city begins to fade away into the countryside it will be seen on the right.
