Thunderbird Lounge is a bar in downtown Daegu that is popular with foreigners. The cozy establishment is owned and operated by long-term Daegu expat Aaron LaForest and his Korean wife. Although the main hub of activity takes place on the 4th floor, complete with hip decor and a fooseball table, the couple has also opened up the 5th floor to carry a different vibe and change of pace. In the sweltering summer heat that Daegu is known for, they also have created a rooftop patio to hang out on Saturday nights, or their popular Sunday Rooftop BBQ Parties between 3 and 9pm.
Aaron is known for being able to churn out a large variety of cocktails and has also attracted the talents of barkeeps at former expat locales, such as Funkaholic. On tap is Red Rock Ale, and 12 other imported bottled beers are available, as well.

The bar and its patrons are famous for coming up with new ideas for events and special nights. Wednesdays are Ladies Night; Thursdays are Pub Night which features a night of games, like X-Box, Crib, Dominoes, Cards, etc...and Saturdays are an Open Mike Jam. The Daegu Thunderbirds Hockey Team is a local group that plays together and against various expat teams around the country. And on occasion, you'll hear about the latest Toga Party at the bar, or another new function. The owners also organize christmas dinners, off-site, when the holidays roll around.

If entering downtown from Samdeok Fire Station, take your first right and follow that street for awhile. Take your 2nd left, which should be onto a more busier street and look for the Thunderbird logo on the left hand side, or if you look up, you can see their sign on the 4th floor.
