Uijeongbu is a city in Gyeonggi Province. Its geographical location is 37°45´N 127°3´E.

The city is located about an hour north of central Seoul by subway. The area has fair concentration of GI's from Camp Laguardia, Camp Stanley and Camp Red Cloud. In the TV show M*A*S*H, this city (then just a village) served as the home of MASH 4077.

Despite it being known for its military presence, the area has boomed into a satellite community of Seoul and all that comes with it. Which means shopping, cinemas, restaurants and bars, PC bangs, DVD Bangs, etc...In addition to US personnel, English hagwons have surfaced and as a result, has generated an expat community of English teachers.
