United Nations Memorial Park

The United Nations Memorial Park is in Suyeong-gu, Pusan, near Gwangalli Beach. This is the burial spot for 2,300 soldiers killed in the Korean War (1950-1953).

Soldiers interred there are from the following countries:

  • Australia - 281
  • Canada - 378
  • France - 44
  • Netherlands - 117
  • New Zealand - 34
  • Norway - 1
  • South Korea - 36
  • South Africa - 11
  • Turkey - 462
  • United Kingdom - 885
  • United States - 36

During and after the war as many as 11,000 soldiers' remains were kept here until they were repatriated.

Also on the grounds is the Memorial Service Hall, and a sculpture park.
