| Korean Immigration has recently implemented new policies on the E2 visa requirements, such as requiring medical records, criminal records, and interviews at overseas Korean embassies. This is a very fluid situation and there is a general opinion that the execution of the policy will continue to be refined. As a result, we cannot guarantee that our information will be current, to the moment. If you wish for the latest information and safe guidance, we please encourage you to contact Rowan at ESL-Planet, who is always at the forefront of industry changes and helping teachers get good jobs.

Regardless of what your contract states or what your employer tells you, you have until midnight on the last day indicated on your ARC for you to exit the country, unless immigration has given you an extension.
If you overstay your visa, you could face some or all of the following issues:
- Potentially damage your ability to get new visas.
- Delay your departure at the airport which might cause for you to miss your flight.
- Receive visa overstay fines and remain in custody until the fines are paid.
If you want to get an extension, you must take your air ticket, ARC, and passport to an immigration office, and they will extend your visa for up to 10 days. You will not get an extension without the proof of onward travel.
