Wando (완도군, 莞島郡, type of grass.island.county) is a county in Jeollanam-do. The population as of 2004 was 60,141, including:

Wando is another one of the counties in the province that is composed entirely or mainly of islands (others include Shinan and Goheung).

It is located at 126°15′~127°13′ East, and 33°54′~36°08′ North. Going to the east after crossing the sea takes one to the counties of Goheung and Yeocheon, to the west is the county of Haenam, to the north are the counties of Haenam, Gangjin and Jangheung, and to the south is Jeju-do and the sea. Wando is one of Korea's six large islands, and a centre of marine commerce.
The county is composed of a total of 203 islands, of which 143 are uninhabited and 60 are inhabited.
Some of the main islands are Wan-do (완도, 62.6㎢), Gogeum-do (고금도, 43.8㎢), Shinji-do (신지도, 25.7㎢), Bogil-do (보길도, 33.4㎢), Soan-do (소안도, 23.4㎢), Nohwa-do (노화도, 25.9㎢), Cheongsan-do (청산도, 33.7㎢), Pyeongil-do (평일도, 18.4㎢), and Geumdang-do (금당도, 15.5㎢).
As the county is located right next to the sea it has a moderate climate. The average yearly temperature is 13.9℃, the average in January is 2.2℃, and the average in August is 26.3℃. The average yearly precipitation is 1,201 mm.
