Western Architecture in Korea

Western architectural design came to Korea in the 1880s and can now be found in many forms. Particular influence came from Germany, Russia, and America. Many Christian churches were built to a Western-style design. This is also true for some public buildings and businesses. An early major concentration of Western-style buildings in Seoul is in the Jeongdong district.
