There are two islands named Won-do in Jeollanam-do. One lies in Samsan-myeon, Yeosu city, and the other lies in Geumil-eup, Wando county. The latter had a population of 1 in 1999 [1]. The name Won-do (원도, 遠島) means "a remote island," and both examples in Jeollanam-do are rather remote [2].
