Wonin-dong

Wonin-dong (원인동, , round.benevolent.dong) is a dong (precinct) in the city of Wonju in Gangwon-do. Wonin-dong is located 0.8 km to the south of City Hall, and borders on Bongsan 2-dong to the east over the Wonjucheon.

The original name of the area was Won-dong using the same hanja (園, 둥글원). The "In" (仁) hanja was added on later on after the daughter of Han Junggyeom (한중겸, 韓重謙) was born in the area as the queen consort to the Injo (인조, 仁祖).
