Woraksan National Park in on both sides of the border between Chungcheongbuk-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do. However, most of the park is in the former province. The park is named for the mountain Woraksan. There are a number of hiking trails in the park, though some may be closed during the Spring and Autumn fire seasons.

- Trains - nearest station is at Chungju
- Buses - Local buses from Suanbo and Chungju run about nine times daily - some only as far as Mireuk village. There are buses from Seoul also that stop at Mireuk, Deokju and Songgye villages.
- Highway - From Chungju take Highway 3 to Suanbo, then Rd. 597 to Mireuk. Or take Highways 3 and 36 to Rd. 597, then head south to Songgye. From the south, leave Expressway 45 at Yeonpung and take Highway 3 to Daeanbo, just before Suanbo. Turn right and go less than a km. to Rd. 597. Turn left here to Mireuk. Highway 59 passes through the eastern part of the park, and provides access to some of the "Danyang Eight Sights."
[edit] Accommodation and food
- Deokju village has several minbak, including the quite satisfactory Weolsong Garden (which has its own restaurant). Several other small restaurants and stores are in the area.
- Mireuk village has a few minbak. Some restaurants are along the road into the temple site.
- And, Songgye village, farther down the valley, has a selection of both.
- Suanbo, about nine kms from Mireuk, has a wide variety of both accommodation and restaurants.
