Yangyang (양양군, 襄陽郡, aid.sun.county) is a county in Gangwon-do. The population as of 2004 was 29,364, including:

- 177 non-Koreans.

To the north is the city of Sokcho, to the west is the county of Inje, to the south is the city of Gangneung and the county of Hongcheon, and to the east is the sea.
There are a number of mountains in the west in the Taebaek Mountains, such as Seoraksan (설악산, 雪嶽山:1,708m), Eungboksan (응복산, 應伏山:1,360m) and Odaesan (오대산, 五臺山:1,563m).
As the county both faces the Sea of Japan/East Sea as well as has the Taebaek Mountains to block the cold wes wind in the winter, it is on average 2.5℃ warmer than oher cities on the west coast at the same latitude, and 3℃ warmer in the winter. There is a relatively large amount of rainfall in the autumn as well. The average yearly temperature is 12.3℃, the average in January is -2.2℃, and the average in August is 24.3℃. The average yearly precipitation is 1,131mm.
