Yeongam Park (영암공원) is located in Yeongam-eup, behind the county office. The site is of historical significance, as the Yeongam County website notes:
"The park topographically corresponds to a dragon ball. It is also a historical place where ancient Koreans performed religious services to pray for rain during drought or the safety of village folks in calamities like an epidemic. The altar was destroyed and replaced by a Japanese shrine during the Japanese occupation. After the Liberation, a monument to the war dead was erected as well as other sports facilities for the local public" [1]
