Yeongcheon (영천시; 永川市, long.river.city) is a city in Gyeongsangbuk-do, close to Daegu. The population as of 2004 was 110,891, including:

- 1,371 non-Koreans.

The city is located at 128°41′∼129°08′ East and 35°50′∼36°11′ North. To the north are the cities of Pohang and Gyeongju, to the west are the cities of Daegu and Gyeongsan as well as the county of Gunwi, to the south is the city of Gyeongsan and the county of Cheongdo, and to the north are the counties of Gunwi and Cheongsong as well as the city of Pohang.
As with most of the rest of the province, Yeongcheon is located in an agricultural district.
Mountains nearby the city from the Taebaek Mountains include Bohyeonsan (보현산, 1,124m) to the north, Palgongsan (팔공산, 1,193m) to the west, and Geumbaksan (금박산, 432m), Guryongsan (구룡산, 675m) and Saryongsan (사룡산, 685m) to the south.
The city is 40.75 km from east to west and 38.64 km from north to south.
The summer and winter seasons are quite different in Yeongcheon due to its continental location. The average yearly temperature is 12.25℃, the highest recorded temperature was 39.4℃, and the lowest recorded was -20.5℃. The average temperature in August is 24℃, and the average in January is 1.2℃. The average yearly precipitation is 1,021.8㎜.
