Yeongnam is the name of a region that coincides with the former Gyeongsang-do in South Korea. (It was also the name of a Goryeo-era province in the same area.)
The region includes the modern-day provinces of Gyeongsangbuk-do, Gyeongsangnam-do, and the self-governing cities of Busan, Daegu, and Ulsan. The regional name is used (with a slightly different spelling) as the name of Yeungnam University.
