So does that mean we should do the same for other letters as well?--Hater Depot 06:37, 8 November 2006 (CET)

Train Stations

Whoa, these are in some disarray! I notice that f'rinstance that Chupungnyeong Station says the next station over, in Gyeongsangbuk-do, is Hwabangsa Station (actually Huibangsa Station). When you click on the latter, it says the station you've just left is actually Jungnyeong Station. This is because Huibangsa Station is actually several hours away, in Sobaeksan National Park in Yeongju-shi. I can correct this error on the Chupungnyeong Station page , but I've also found a number of errors in spelling in the templates for the RR stations. (Hamchang Station comes to mind, also Iwon Station. Gotta be more if there's these..... anyway, how does one change the templates - why don't you set it up so I can do that if you don't want to go through them all yourself.... --Skookum 08:50, 9 November 2006 (CET)

Jeollanam-do template

I hadn't thought about doing that. It's an idea, and I'll look into it when I get a little more time. Probably what I'll end up doing is having it link to counties and lists, rather than to every single page. If you have any ideas, by all means go ahead and make one. Are templates something you want to do more of on this site?

Oh, and do you know why a few people keep updating the wikicities site? Do they write here, too? Smee 07:59, 20 November 2006 (CET)

Categories has limitations and templates are much more user-friendly than categories, particularly to those who don't use wiki much. Hence why most things that I do these days, tries to incorporate templates of some sort. For example, a heavy linked series of pages is ESL in Korea, but I created about 9 templates to be used on different pages, to organize flow and layout better. The cities template that I'm working on for Geochang, I feel, will also prove to be more navigation friendly than redundantly scrolling a massive page like Nonsan. --Galbijim 03:06, 23 November 2006 (CET)

Image in Koreanname template

isn't working. Take a look at Gaya_confederacy compare to the one on wikipedia. Any ideas?--Galbijim 02:56, 23 November 2006 (CET)

Oops! Sorry

I saw that I accidentally replaced your Galbi.JPG pic. I liked "Save" without reading it closely. ZenKimchi 08:47, 26 November 2006 (CET)

Making a wikilink to a category page within the body text of an article.

Well?

Geochang

I know that FireFox makes the page squished, but I want to somehow have the templates and at least some of the pics on the top half of the page. I've just made another edit. Can you see if it works, or can you tweak to make it better?--Galbijim 02:36, 1 December 2006 (CET)

I prefer a vertical template for Geochang, though. More user-friendly and also all the Geochang sub-templates are vertical. If I had to decide, I'd rather have the wikipedia template on Geochang pushed lower, rather than the images and my template.--Galbijim 04:55, 1 December 2006 (CET)

여섯

Ok, I got it now. It was just confusing to me because dictionaries just lump everything under ㅁ, ㅂ, ㅈ, etc.--Hater Depot 13:12, 21 December 2006 (CET)

Korean government IP

What are the restrictions on distributing books published by the SK government? There are some books at the National Library I'm interested in putting up but not if I could get in trouble. Is there a blanket rule or case-by-case?--Hater Depot 19:41, 23 December 2006 (CET)

Another template

Yeah, looks better than the old subway template.--Galbijim 17:01, 26 December 2006 (CET)

How can I add something to the veg page?

HIYA!

I live in Jeju City. I want to make a couple of additions to the page. One is about a food that I love. Another is a vegetarian, maybe vegan restaurant in Shin Jeju City. I don't know how to make these additions. I've done the tutorial but still don't get it. I don't know where to put the food addition and don't see any way to add to the list of restaurants in cities. I registered but this doesn't seem to open up any doors that are allowed to members only.

I've posted a few times on Dave's ESL regarding Buddhism, Zen, and I think you've replied to something I've written. I know I've seen your posts more than a few times.

In addition to the food things, I could also probably say something about Buddhism here in Korea. And other things regarding Jeju City.

Please give me a couple of pointers.

Also, know where I can get probiotics in Korea?

Thanks much, Troy Santos.

tried to add something but ....

it was about a food called BINGTTEOK. It didn't work out. There was some sort of conflict between two versions I was working on. In the end neither made it onto the website. But I suppose they're both still around somehwere. I would like to post one of them and delete the other.

I'm tired and don't want to continue right now. So, can you help me fix this little mess?

Thanks, Troy.

Centering pictures

This is something that's bothered me for a while, and I was wondering if you knew what to do about it. Whenever I put an image on a page as a thumbnail the picture isn't centered in the box. It's a minor thing, but in my opinion it doesn't look good. For examples, see Gwangju. As a result I've generally stopped putting "thumb" when I place an image; however, that means the caption is only visible as a mouse-over.

The images on wikipedia tend to be centered. See Starbucks for example. I checked to see what they did, but it looks like their image lines are the same as mine. Any suggestions about how to center images in the box?

8000

We just passed 8000. Can you add us to that list of biggest wikis? --Galbijim 18:52, 9 April 2007 (CEST)

Spam accounts

I don't think you need to leave welcome messages to the rash of new garbled accounts we're getting. Must be some new form of spam activity or something.--Galbijim 10:26, 12 April 2007 (CEST)

Yeah, looks like it. I stopped leaving welcome messages on those accounts yesterday. mithridates aka 데이빛 10:37, 12 April 2007 (CEST)

The Galbijim website

Hello, I just visited your website about Korea, and was impressed by the content on your site. I created a website with Korean shirt designs and believe our sites can work well together. It mostly has funny designs that people who've lived in Korea or visited can relate to.

here's a link to my site: http://www.kimchikorner.com

If you like the products on my site & think your visitors might like the products, please let me know if you would be interested in putting a link on your site. You will earn 20% of my profits from any customer that links from your site. If interested, I can send the info on how to get started.

Thanks for your time, Grant - KimchiKorner

ps-also interested to add my site if you have a link page...Thanks! pss- If you still need a high resolution graphic of the korean flag for the site, I've got one you can use. Just let me know.

It's something to think about. Once the dust settles on some current projects of ours, we plan to add some apparel to the site. We'll let you know then if there's opportunity to collaborate. Thanks.--Galbijim 16:06, 26 April 2007 (CEST)

Thanks

Hey man, yeah, I tried uploading a couple of pictures, but that picture is large and out of focus anyway. Thanks for resizing it. Yeah, so let's hang in Seoul some time. I am sure we'll find each other interesting. Also, I posted a question on the community forum about whether to buy a digital camera in the US or in South Korea. If you could answer it, that would be awesome. Ross. Zweifel 12:18, 18 May 2007 (CEST)

Spam filter running amok

I tried to save an addition to Using Korean abroad and the spam filter wouldn't let me save it. They didn't like the fact that there was a URL: umich.edu somewhere in the article. Thing is, that URL was already there, not one I added. So how do we free up the articles so they can be worked on.... Skookum 07:59, 31 May 2007 (CEST)

Table help

What am I missing from this template to enable me to add text for description and category?--Galbijim

I think I messed up the main page

I think I messed up the main page

Yes, it's all fucked up. I'm changing the Protection of that page to Sysop-only.--Galbijim 21:56, 30 September 2009 (EDT)
